Development of the concept

Developing the concept is an important part of the creative process as it enables us to try out new things and we get to make different creative decisions based on what has worked and what hasn't.

Having done research into symbolic conventions we know that the performance is an important element of the music so we decided to look at things the band could do during the non lip sync part that was pop rock. We did this as what we had originally listed was more pop and not rock enough which would be moving away from the pop rock genre.

In order to get the non lip sync right we had each member in group work on 5 things that the band could do during the hanging out. We did this as it needs to be specific as during the day the cast needs to know what they are doing exactly so we don't waste time. We wanted to come up with more than 10 things to make sure of some of the things then we would still have back up choices. It would also mean that we would be living up to the audience expectations as the expect more pop rock factors and not only pop.

The list below is what we came up with

-Re-decorating the basement with street signs

-The camera zooming in on one band members face while they make funny faces

-One member picks up the other member aggressively

-Lying on the sofa playing video games

-Rolling a cigarette

-One member in a headlock from the other on a sofa

-The band opening beers

- One member pouring the drink into the other members mouth

-Putting his legs up on the drum kit then it being pushed off

-Swiping all the drinks and snacks off the table then putting legs on the table.

-shotgunning beer

-kicking the camera over and a face appears sideways

-Writing down the lyrics in block letters then scraping it away

-two members singing into the microphone then one filming with the camera

-spray painting a logo on a white sheet
