Set design

The set design is a design of the set that is digitally or physically drawn which helps show where and when the performance takes place. The look of the set gives the set designers an idea of the concept we are trying to create and it also ensures that everyone in the group has the same idea of what we want the set to look like.

Example of a set design

Below is the first version of the first set drawn on paper. It’s drawn in a front view then a bird eye view to show the different perspectives. The bird's eye view establishes the set and shows where everything will exactly be. The front view provides a perspective where we see from the front side where things are roughly levelled on set.

We also did a digital version of set 1 to show the kind of material, height, colour and look we were looking for. This version gives a more detailed look of the set in comparison to the drawings.

The props that we put down for our first set were a sofa, mattress, instruments and a lamp. Other props like posters the group will bring as they are small things that we can bring in.

For the second because we wanted a more perfomance set. For this set we choose to have a more simple set where it's just the instruments and the small tvs in the background.
